Sketch Relief

Standard

Stressed out. Thinking about Orlando today. Earlier today I saw a magnificent presence of God as a young man, ordained yesterday, said his first mass. Then I later saw the news and the death toll and the hatred and despair and it overwhelmed me. We’ve been given powerful tools as humans, to shape our own world. But now we’re forced to watch helplessly as everything but our anger and cries for justice are taken away from us. Made me think of this scene from Lord of the Rings, so I did a quick sketch. My heart goes out to the victims and their families and friends tonight as I try to figure out what I can do.
For now, I can write and I can draw. Goodnight.

“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
